Virtual Winter Thrills • January 11th – March 18th, 2021 • Now Online!

PitchFest

PitchFest is designed to connect authors and agents for the purpose of pitching projects. This has proven to be an unprecedented opportunity for those writers looking to secure or change agents or to sell to an editor. And where better to have this event than in the heart of publishing, New York City?

PitchFest is set up like a speed-dating event. You pitch your completed and polished novel to an agent or acquiring editor for a few minutes, get the agent’s or editor’s reaction, and then move on to a different agent or editor.

For 2020 – Virtual Pitching

I’m excited to announce they’ve given me the green light to move forward on a one-time unique concept to replace PitchFest and ConsultFest in July 2020.  We’ll be offering Pitching and Consulting Sessions virtually.  What an opportunity!  Talk about streams of light, the agents and editors are rearranging their schedules to meet with each of them through Zoom, a video conferencing platform.

Here’s how it will work…

Pitching Sessions

Purpose:          Writers with a finished manuscript have an opportunity to pitch their work to an agent or editor <<create a link to Pitching 2020 Web Page>> for representation or sale.

Cost:                $50/each Virtual Session lasing 5-7 Minutes

Dates:              Monday July 13th – Tuesday July 14th

Times (EST):    9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Agents:            To find out which agents, editors, and producers will be available, please visit the Agents/Editors list accessed from the top of this page.

Preparation:    Register for the ThrillerFest Virtual Lectures where Sandra Brannan, the Director of PitchFest and ConsultFest, will be hosting a panel of agents who will be talking about pitching.

Requests:        Please list the top five preferences of agents, editors, and producers you’d like to pitch and we will do the best we can to accommodate those requests on a first-come, first-served basis, but we cannot make any guarantees.   Please study who the experts are, particularly what they are looking for and what they are not currently looking for, before signing up and listing your preference.  Again, we will do the best we can to pair you with the requested experts for you but no promises or guarantees.

We hope you take advantage of this writer’s stream of sunlight, this excellent networking and career boosting opportunity that the organizers have offered us by registering today.

For those writers who are looking to seek advice on how to better prepare a novel or improve the work or simply to have more time with an agent or editor,  we recommend registering for consultations at ConsultFest that allows you to sign up for 15-minutes of personalized advice from a top acquiring editor or agent in the industry who can suggest improvements in your writing or querying journey with more time.  Register today for ConsultFest!
